Punjab has a range of developed and upcoming luxury hotels in all the business districts of the State, with at least 60 of the star hotels in the cities of Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar only. Punjab emphasizes on promoting tourism and on developing hospitality infrastructure in collaboration with private sector. Some of the major hospitality projects in pipeline are:

• Proposed 7 star hotel by Hampshire Group of Hotels and Resorts at Amritsar.
• Proposed luxury hotel by JW Marriot group of hotels in Amritsar by 2010.
• Proposed Punjab Habitat Center Project at Mohali with convention centre and conference rooms.
• Proposed development of 5 star and 3 star hotel at Amritsar and Bathinda.
• Hotel-cum-convention centre with 300 rooms and 5,000 seating capacity is also Proposed at Mohali.
